National Wind Tunnel Facility Conference 2027

Wednesday 17 – Thursday 18 March 2027

About the conference

The NWTF Conference 2027 provides an opportunity for industry and academic researchers to share results, new techniques, and ideas for the future of experimental fluid mechanics across different regimes. We aim to provide a venue for wide-ranging discussions in an inclusive cross-sectoral environment.

The range of topics will include but isn’t limited to:

  • Wind tunnel testing and outcomes/impact
  • Novel facilities and their characterisation
  • New experimental techniques
  • Exploitation of experimental data
  • Joint experimental and CFD research and impact
  • Industry and academia collaborations

The talks will be selected from abstracts allowing a range of emerging research to be presented from junior and senior researchers.

About National Wind Tunnel Facility

The NWTF consists of 24 state-of-the-art wind tunnels distributed across 12 UK universities, with an administrative hub at Imperial College London. The facilities are open to all industry and academic researchers and to date have supported thousands of projects. The NWTF also provides community support through knowledge sharing events, training workshops, a database of experts and expertise, an experimental database to support the CFD community and group research projects.
